Wetherspoons to extend opening hours at all pubs as it reopens 44 more gardens

WETHERSPOONS fans will be able to sip on their pints for longer as the pub chain will extend its opening hours from next week.
‘Spoons will also reopen another 44 beer gardens from Monday for outdoor eating and drinking.

And from April 26, boozers will be open for an extra hour in the evening, from 9am until 10pm on Sunday through to Thursday, and 9am to 11pm Friday to Saturday.
The extended opening hours apply to the newly opened branches as well as the 394 that opened on April 12.
Next Monday will also see 60 branches in Scotland and 32 in Wales open again as local coronavirus lockdown restrictions are eased.

Moon Under Water, Leicester Square, London Last Post, Southend Wetherspoons, Milton Keynes Richard John Blackler, Liverpool Reginald Mitchell, Hanley Grey Friar, Preston Three Magnets, Letchworth Thomas Sheraton, Stockton Skylark, Croydon William Jameson, Sunderland Red Lion, Skegness Rising Sun, Redditch Rodboro Buildings, Guildford Friar Penketh, Warrington Holland Tringham, Streatham, London Swan Inn, Weymouth Hope Tap, Reading Gate Clock, Greenwich, London Lord John, Stroud Paramount, Manchester Observatory, Ilkeston Mockbeggar Hall, Moreton Rockingham Arms, Elephant & Castle, London Mail Rooms, Ross on Wye Rupert Brooke, Rugby Columbia Press, Watford Goodmans Field, London Plough, Hammersmith, London Ivy Wall, Spalding Fall Well, Liverpool Square Sail, Lincoln Amber Rooms, Loughborough Eric Bartholomew, Morecambe Clairville, Wallasey Old Market Hall, Mexborough John Francis Basset, Camborne Benjamin Fawcett Driffield Man in the Wall, Wimborne Butter Cross,Bingham Trent Bridge Inn, West Bridgford High Main, Byker Six Gold Marlets, Burgess Hill Lady Chatterley, Eastwood Hope & Champion, Beaconsfield Three pubs in Northern Ireland will also open again but not until April 30 in line with local lockdown rules.
The development means 533 of the 871 ‘Spoons pubs around the UK will be open again.
Punters will be able to order food and drink at the newly reopened branches, although they will be running a reduced menu .
While customers will still be able to tuck into a fry up, fish and chips or a beef burger, its range of curries, mixed grills and steaks will be missing from the menu.
Pubs in England that only have space for indoor seating won’t be able to reopen until May 17 at the earliest under PM’s roadmap out of lockdown .
In England, pubs that reopen in April must offer table service under the Government’s Covid-secure guidelines.
Wetherspoons customers will be able to pay through the free app , although staff members will still be on hand to take orders and payment at the table.
While some pubs and restaurant chains are accepting bookings , ‘Spoons won’t be.
Instead, customers will have to wait until they turn up at a branch before finding out whether there’s a free table.
It means punters may be asked to wait outside until space frees up at busier times.
Customers will only be able to go inside a Wetherspoons to gain access to the outdoors area and use the toilets.
Punters can also expect to be asked to handover contact details for the test and trace system , so authorities can track and monitor any coronavirus outbreaks.
Like before, pubs will be providing hand sanitiser for customers to use while having a drink.

Wetherspoon chief executive John Hutson said: “We are looking forward to opening the extra pubs in England as well as those in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
